4 Patch Series

  4 patch blocks are great for beginners and by changing the rotation of the triangle blocks and the color scheme, you can come up with unlimited combinations.  The 4 patch is mainly 4 large blocks.  Each block can also be made of 4 smaller blocks. The Dixie Reel block is one example of using just the 4 larger blocks compared to Clay's Choice which uses the 4 smaller blocks together to make one of the four larger blocks.
   The instructions for each of these blocks is for cutting and piecing one block, but they are easily adapted to strip cutting and chain sewing.
